Will a Powermax 30, edge start and cut 1/2" aluminum?

If the Powermax30 was being operated on 230 volts input (instead of 120) then it (with a very steady hand) would be able to do a very slow severance cut on 1/2" aluminum. Steel cuts much easier than aluminum, and Hypertherm rates the Powermax30 to sever 1/2" steel. Normally you would downgrade for aluminum and stainless by about 25%.
So, 1/2" aluminum is not recommended, however if you are patient and are running on 230 volts, you likely can sever it.
