richardlw......
Feel free to jump in!
Loyd did an awesome job on the degree ring.
I will powder coat it this week and post some pictures of it.
The last time Loyd and I spoke, I think he was looking into a sticker to add degree markings.
He did a great job and anyone who takes on a project for a complete stranger off of a web site like he did, deserves the credit.
He built it and it was at my gate so fast I had to praise him.
Thanks again Loyd!!!!!
I will powder coat it and get those pictures up ASAP.

Re: Shop Outfitters Bender Help
Richard,
Good job on the benders! Looks like a harbor freight one on the floor. I have one and it works fine. I have a real nice one by Diacro #2. I have another that I do scroll work on that I built with a 3 phase motor and gearbox. I run my shop on a rotary phase converter that I built about 12 years or so ago.

thanks the harbour freight one is ok i use it for scroll work now i found repeatable bends was hard so i built the other ones by clamping the material to the die nothing moves and repeatable bends is possible

Hey Loyd, How is the Diacro #2 working for you? I just bought one and havent used it yet.
It came with about 10 sets of round tube dies from 1/4" up to 1" . Anything I need to know?
Thanks

Re: Shop Outfitters Bender Help
I love the things it can do....I do not use it to it's fullest extent. I just downloaded a manual for it. I have to make my own dies for it. A guy gave it to me with no dies.
I use it mainly to bend small diameter tubing. Wish I could help you more.

Re: Shop Outfitters Bender Help
Richard,
I will get you a pic of the power bender. It isn't much to look at, but it sure works good. I don't do much scroll work anymore but I do use it to wind up those 110' long springs in the reels if they ever get loose! When I was 17 I used to do a lot of ornamental iron work in Dallas, Tx. Quite a bit of it is still around down there. That was 41 years ago!!
Wow, I am still having fun and will celebrate my 40th anniversary with my High School Sweetheart this Nov. 12.!! Thank the Lord.
