I have a Powermax 1000 hooked up to my Plasmacam DHC.
The torch cut out midway through a job.
Initialised and in diagnostics window triggered the torch, but no ignition.
Changed electrode and nozzle ( Fine Cut ) but this did not solve the problem.
I observed that the Fault Indicator Light illuminates for a short period, then goes out.
No trouble shooting indicators illuminate during this period.
I have an air dryer hooked up to the Powermax.
Air Pressure OK.
After about an hour, tried again, and the machine fired up OK ?
Any Suggestions as to the cause of this behaviour ?
If there is an intermittent fault, I would like to nip it in the bud
Regards
Pat

Check your control wire for the controller to the plasma. Mine was doing something similar I was not getting a fault light. Turned out my conection at the controller was not very good.
Hope that helps

Could be marginal incoming power or unbalanced 3 phase (if you are running on 3 phase).

Thanks Brad and Jim, yes, I am running off three phase.
I did disconnect and connect the control wire, so that could very well have been it.
Thankfully it did not misbehave again, but I will bear in mind the advice received should it happen again.
