Plasma Table Freezing Up
Hey so I live in the North East region and its very cold right now. My table is frozen solid and it takes hours with my torpedo heater to thaw it out. I had a thought on adding some type of antifreeze like RV antifreeze. I don't want to counter and of the other ingredients in the water like the sodium nitrite. Please let me know if this is ok to do and if not RV antifreeze, if there is something else out there to use and how much. Much appreciated

Antifreeze is toxic and could make you very sick or kill you. Not sure if RV antifreeze is any different but I would be very cautious before adding it to your table.
Use the search, there are several threads on here discussing water table additives that will work.

Re: Plasma Table Freezing Up
I found antifreeze for plasma tables . runs $40.00 a gallon
I checked into water heater options . to expensive to run and too dangerous.
I am currently researching rv antifreeze waiting on the company for reply.
I think it may be safe for mild steel. not sure about aluminum or copper
the main ingredient is propylene glycol . so if they say it works you should be able to use non toxic antifreeze, swimming pool antifreeze . or rv antifreeze .
contact youre manufacturer before trying it.
I wil post my manufactures answer when I get it

Re: Plasma Table Freezing Up
Many use stock tank heaters as used for horse and cattle water tanks. I run a 1250 watt thermostatically controlled heater in my horse water tank all winter. I put it on a timer to come on at 5am.....the horses go out in the paddock at about 8 am......water is liquid by then. The heater then shuts off again at about 5 pm when horses go back in the barn. It costs less than 50 cents a day for electricity for this heater.
There are many types, and are available at farm supply stores. A much better idea than adding chemicals to your cutting table.
