For those people with a plasma cam or samson machine that want to cut tubes.
here are some modified table slats to allow it.
youcan set the tubes in the depression and your head will clear
had to beef four slats up a bit to carry the weight. It works great for cutting trailer light holes and such!
enjoy,
Brian

Re: want to cut square and rectangle tubes?
If one has a good imagination, there is a lot you can do with a plasma table. We have used ours to cut holes in the web of I-beam, accurately cutting holes in square tubing, cutouts in c-channel, and even splitting a length of pipe in half. To cut the pipe, just lay it inside a piece of channel which is set square to the travel of the gantry and leave at least 1/2" uncut on each end to zip-cut with a grinder after both sides are cut. This way the pipe will stay intack until you are done.
I have burned a jig and saved its home so that I can easily square a part to the machine. Works awesome and saves our fitters a lot of time laying out cuts to torch or zip-cut.
