Need help breaking a circle
If I try to break a curve in corel draw it seems to automatically close it when I convert it to dxf. Is there a trick for drawing a circle with a break in it without the program automatically closing the circle when you export it? I am designing a train. I want my wheels to have a center cut out circle(dropout)and an outer circle that is not complete. When I convert to dxf It closes my outer circle and makes a mess.

Re: Need help breaking a circle
if tools/options/document/general/fill-open-curves is checked, and a fill color is assigned to the shape, then it will appear filled (and closed) in normal view mode (but not in wireframe), and it will be closed when exported, to maintain that filled appearance

Re: Need help breaking a circle
I looked and that box is not checked. I attached the file. I went ahead and took out center circles so I could show my customer my idea.
Thanks for the help

Re: Need help breaking a circle
viewed in normal view mode, corel shows the arcs closed, and exports them as closed, as if fill-open-curves is checked, whether it is or not
the shape has black fill and no outline
give it an outline and remove the fill and then it works as expected
or if you break-apart the shape, fill color doesn't matter
but either way, it must have an outline assigned
no matter what format is being exported
ultimately, open curves combined into nested shapes must have an outline and cannot have a fill color
or else they will be treated as closed when exported or when viewed in normal view mode
