How do you align holes perfectly ?

Maybe Gary or someone could give a lesson on how to place holes on a drawing , like a pipe flange , or say a clock face
where the numbers are.I would think you use grid lines. Can you make grid lines smaller? Im looking for perfect hole alignment. Thanks

Let us know what software you are using and what machine setup you have.

grids and guidelines are only for rectangular placement, I usually just use the transform docker, use the move tab for rectangular placement, and the rotate tab for radial placement

in the picture, I drug the rotate handle (red arrow) for the hole from the center of the hole to the center of the bolt circle, so now I can enter the desired rotation and number of copies in the rotate docker, and rotation will be about the center of the flange

I used snap and align (and the transform docker) to get that much laid out

I'm all geared up to make video tutorials, I just need to finish the front end on my web site. That recently came to include making a DXF viewing app, so eventually....
