Re: X 6 is out .
I see some (potential) improvements
page numbers ----- 'bout time, nice to have when needed
native 64 bit ------ assuming it improves speed and capacity
attract and repel curve tool ----- might help adjust thin spots
improved object properties docker ---- fill and outline properties on one tab
--------------------------------
I'm inclined to (yawn) stick with only upgrading on odd versions
but 64 bits is very enticing, I might have to try that....

Re: X 6 is out .
ok, I went for it, X6 (64 bit) is blazing fast, and the repel tool does make thin spots wider (without making a mess), and the contour tool has corner options: square, fillet, or chamfer, (but apparently you can't set your own fillet radius or chamfer distance)
X6 has the same 64k object complexity limit as always, everything else looks and acts the same
except
it has serious flaws with custom toolbars, and something caused multiple total crashes, without backups I'd've been screwed, it also deactivated my working X3 installation that I normally use which was on a separate XP boot drive, then I had to debug almost evey single macro for peculiarities,
upgrading is so painful......
so, the repel tool is the only compelling reason I see to upgrade from X5, if not for 64 bit speed, which only helps me becasue I run a lot of macros on a lot of files at once frequently (that's 3 or more times faster).

Re: X 6 is out .
I decided to do my other computer from X5 to X6, because they gave me a 15% coupon
imported my custom workspace from that first X6 install, crashed
after crashing, it won't start, it needs full uninstall/reinstall,
then thumbnail previews wouldn't work, finally had to uninstall X5 and X6 and delete several references to corel in the registry
now I don't have X5 or X3, which I'm a little nervous about, and it's hard to see any difference from X5
tracing is the same, dxf is the same,
but it's working now, and it seems faster, and that repel tool sure is attractive, so I guess I like it...
for new retail, X5 (limited edition) may be a much better deal
