Corel x5

Post by Dawgonhawg »

Learning x5 is going slow for me but will get it with some help.
On this file I created the bar, then the letters and attached to the bar. The bar is a little long. See the vertical line on the right side of the bar. How do i trim the length of the bar and the vertical line?
Thanks, Jim

first, there is an extra copy of the outer perimeter to delete

then get the node-tool (actually called the shape tool)

click on the object if it is not already selected

drag a window around the two end nodes to be moved

hold control key while dragging the nodes to the left

control key makes it drag straight

or if snap-to-objects (or grid) is on, you may not have to hold control key

Gary thinks for the information. How did I get a extra outer permiter amd how did you find it?
I have the vertical linr in place on the bar. How do I delete everything to the right of the line and I need to trim the vertical line to have a square end on the bar. I know this is basic stuff but if I can learn some basics it will help me greatly.
Thanks, Jim

if you drew a rectangle around that end, then you could use trim, trimming a line and a closed curve always trims the line

when I moved the nodes as described above, it was only the perimeter, so the actual shape was still sticking out, so I could see there was a duplicate

my final step would be combine everything and make sure it fills properly, then the duplicate would also be detected because it wouldn't fill right
