tip options...

Post by hobbypoor »

I have a Cutmaster 151 and have been using 40 amp tips. Ide like to step down and use the 20 amp tips to see if it has cleaner/better cuts on some of the thinner materials as well as the more intricate cuts. From what ive been seeing only the drag tips come in the 20 amp size. Can I conver to drag tips on my 151 and If so...whatelse will I need to change. I do have the machine torch.

anyone else here have experience with the 20 amp tips from TD??

Will i see any difference in the cuts??

I have the Cutmaster 51 and I've seen a narrower kerf on thin metals, but not a whole, whole lot thinner. Really all depends mostly on the other variables like cutting height. If I adjust the torch so it's almost dragging the steel, the kerf is less than 1/16th, but my ATHC doesn't react instantaneously, so I have to stand there and watch the machine. Bob.

I use the 30 amp tip with good results. The lightest I cut is 20 ga. I haven't spent much time with the 20 amp of which I have not had much luck - John
