Hi.

Post by 8ob »

Hi.
My name is Bob and I have recently purchased a second hand DHC2 plasmacam to help me in prototyping a few madcap projects. I am not at all computer or tech savvy and I am struggling to get this thing working.Hoping that with a little guidance I may get into the world of self sufficient plasma cutting.
A big thanks to whoever owns/runs this site and the current bunch of contributors, its been a mine of information for me and I haven’t had the chance to cut a plate yet :-D

Welcome to the site Bob! Where are you at with the machine at this point? Do you have all 3 axis moving or are you not even that far yet?

Where are you located, Bob? I do FREE online training for DesignEdge software, and I also offer on-site visits for one-on-one training for a daily fee.

You have a good table. What plasma torch is connected to it?

Tell me about the software. Are you running DesignEdge? What version?

Do you have any of the software upgrades activated on your DesignEdge license?

What do you hope to make, using your PlasmaCam 4x4 table?

I can help you convert your 4x4 into a 4x8 table with a built-in pipe cutter too.

I also offer a rail lift kit that will give you SIX inches of Z travel instead of the factory 2" Z.

Feel free to contact me via PM to discuss all of this, and more.

Post some photos of your table, and your shop so I get some idea of your setup.

Joe

Welcome aboard Bob! You've got a great table there. There are several Facebook Groups dedicated to helping Plasmacam owners. Here are several of them.

Robert has some great Youtube instructional videos as well. I highly recommend taking a look as he is pretty much the defacto expert on all things Plasmacam.

Good luck with your new venture, and let us know if you have any specific questions about using your table or the Design Edge software.
