Command CNC 32 Bit.
Issue in sheetcam.
File===> New Part : when I do this the dialog box shows up but does not show the files that are in my Cut File Folder(Drawings). Even if I click Places to choose another folder nothing happens. Also played with file types in the drop down. Again nothing shows up. It has been working good for many years. I even cleaned out some old cut files I do not use. I have plenty of Gigs storage avail (cant remember how much but I am at 15% usage).
The only way for the dialog box to show my files to choose is I have to re-boot two or three times. Then I am able to choose the file and make my plan and post process and cut with no issues.
Thanks.

Here is a screen shot to see what is happening
File===> New Part
Then Nothing Shows up to where I am pointing in Home/Plasma /CutFiles
Even if I click on Places, no action occurs.

I posted over in the Sheetcam forum a few weeks ago. Have not heard back yet.

Might be an issue with Linux. I've read about some versions having random strange issues. Do you have the latest SheetCam release?

You are aware that a PART is not a JOB or a DRAWING? If its a DXF or SVG drawing you use inport drawing.TJS wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2025 4:17 pm Command CNC 32 Bit.

What should happen on a New part is the Import Drawing dialog box should show up tomake a new part . A job can have multiple PArts
YOu can SAVE a PART for use later . New parts are derived form a drawing import.
The VERSION of LINUX used on CandCNC is not the generic download versions and is tested with SheetCAm.
Uf you do not get the the Import Part dialog in New part then simply use the FILE?import Dar wing menu selection
We have been on 64 bit LINUX fero several years . Same with SheetCAM
We just relased a 22-04 version of Linux and CommandCNC. SInce CommandCNC is based on Linuxcnc We have had to fix some things in Linuxcnc . The fixes have been submitted to the project and will show up in the next official release of linuxcnc. .

What happens if you switch the file type that you are looking for in the bottom right corner from svg to dxf?
What does it show under the OPTIONS menu, APPLICATION OPTIONS, DEFAULT DIRECTORIES?

Part of my original post " Also played with file types in the drop down." No Change.jmersereau wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2025 11:51 pm What happens if you switch the file type that you are looking for in the bottom right corner from svg to dxf?

The directory is correct to where I put my drawings. It has been like this for 8 plus years. I know by now where they would go. As I said. I have to reboot at least once maybe three times for my drawings to show up where they always are.

Re: SheetCam w/Command CNC Issues w/cut files showing up
an interesting thing would be to use file manager in Linux and go see if the files are showing up . It almost sounds like a rights issue and somehow the folder permissions got changed. If SheetCAM cant see the contents it wont give you anything to import/
if they are DXG of SVG than Imkscape will(should) see and open /import them.

Same issue with File>Import Drawing. I have to reboot about 2 to 3 times for the drawings to finally show up. I have been doing this for 8 years this way. Nothing has changed in my process to create a post.
