Need help torch height or speed too fast

Hello this is my second project the 1st one turned out good, however my second leaves a lot of dross in the cuts.
I would like to confirm if it is a torch height setting or speed issue, air pressure plus or minus 10 PSI had no effect. Increasing amps had little effect.
Straight lines are good, as you can see the letters turned out ok, however details around the soldiers are leaving dross in the cuts.
From looking at the langmuir cutting speed table it
looks like I should drop me pierce height to 4mm, and cutting height to 1.5mm,

the speed also seems fast.
I also realize the some details are too small for the current kerf width, which might also be related to torch height causing kerf to be wider.

You took the air pressure from the chart value of 55 psi down to 45 psi ?
why ?
Most plasma I have run want 65-70 psi.

I would recommend doing some test cuts on part of your file until you get your settings dialed in.
No point in wasting all of that expensive material. Maybe just practice on this.

To me it looks like it's slowing down a lot in the detail ares of the soldiers because of the heat discoloration. In situations like this you will get a lot of dross from going too slow and it can sometimes fill back in the cut on you.

I would get your speed and height set doing simple straight line cuts and carry those settings to your project. If you see issues after that you can be pretty sure its something else like slowing down too much, consumables going bad, etc.

Also I see your cut height is set to 3mm when the chart is calling for 1.5mm so could be part of your issue. Also don't just assume that when you set your cut height to 1.5mm that it is actually 1.5mm, you should always pause the machine mid cut during your straight line tests and measure it with feeler gauges and make adjustments to your setting to achieve proper cut height.

Weldguy gives some good advise here. Many times failure to cut all the way thru the material can be attributed to cutting too high. It is a good idea to actually measure your cut height, as Weldguy has suggested. Also- if you have the option to use FineCut type consumables - this may result in less heat in those details of your cut paths.

What is also strange about this David is that the first portion of the cut where it cut through looks like it had much less heat input. Need more info from the OP to move on with this.
