Did you end up finding the software? I wasn't able to.

I managed to find 2 versions and then I also got a program to update the firmware but unfortunately when I connect the serial/data cable between the pc and driver it doesn’t find it

Have you checked in Windows Device manager > Multi-port serial adapters to confirm the serial port is installed and enabled?

It shows the serial com port, if I plug in the usb serial adapter the pc sees that too but won’t see the servo drive when connected

Ah if that is the plug that is not the serial port I was expecting was being used. I expected it would be using this one from the PC circled below which is clearly physically installed but I was referring to checking Windows to be sure the drivers were installed and that it was enabled. Thats irrelevant now.

That being said I am lost. I am not sure how your motors are intended to be hooked up for tuning. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

I have a lead that goes from the pc serial to that socket named cn3, that’s where it should connect but no recognition unfortunately, I’ll just have to try tune the pulses on my controller and see if that works.
Thanks though

OK well in that case I would check the Windows Device manager > Multi-port serial adapters to confirm the serial port is installed and enabled if you haven't already. You may open Device Manager and see the serial port is disabled or not in the list of devices.

Modern windows and serial are enemies of eachother.
I go back to windows 98/xp (or linux) if I have to do anything serial.
Looking at the screenshots in the manual they also used XP for it.

Is the USB to serial straight serial or a null modem
connection?

Pin out of the round plug seems to have everything needed.

I have a cable that fits into the serial port on my pic and connects to the cn3 port on the servo.
I also have a usb lead that has a correct connector to fit cn4.
My windows 10 pc doesn’t recognise either, I have a Linux for my plasma, I might try connecting it to that tomorrow! Will that servofly.exe software work on Linux?

The right connector doesn't mean a thing sadly.
With serial there is a difference between a straight cable and a null modem cable and those USB to serial things are hit and miss if its regular straight or null modem.

If you plug in a serial device your pc is not going to automaticly connect to it and show it in the device manager.
The connection is made with the software and windows vista and up blocks serial connections more often than not especially if the software is "older"

That software is not going to run with linux sadly.
Best guess to get it going is getting an older computer with windows XP and a serial port on it, maybe a laptop from goodwill.
Guess you don't live in the Netherlands?

That C3 cable has a DB9 serial plug on the other end?

Hello @mcmental,

i just stumbled across this thread because i have similar issues:
I am able to connect to two out of three SA3L06B servo drives using a Digitus + nullmodem adapter in Windows 11, but the third one has an older firmware and doesnt connect. Unfortunaetly its this one that troubles me with the "Error 3" message that i just cant troubleshoot.

Would it be possible for you to send me your software so i can try another version and maybe upgrade the firmware?

Thank you very much in advance and greetings from Germany.
