Powermax 85 3/16 aluminum settings
Hello, trying to cut some 3/16 aluminum with our Powermax 85. The book skips the recommended settings for 3/16. Has anyone had experience and can get us close? Thank you

Re: Powermax 85 3/16 aluminum settings
When I cut something that's skipped in the cut chart, I usually just average the 2 closest thicknesses and start with that. Do a couple of test cuts and adjust as needed.

I do the same thing as these guys, it will get you close and a couple simple test lines should get it fully dialed in. Write down your settings for next time so you don;t have to do it all over again in the future

Re: Powermax 85 3/16 aluminum settings
Here are the 3/16" aluminum specs from the Powermax45xp operator manual......they will work well with your Powermax 85 using the 45 amp shielded consumables with amperage set at 45. Cut Height .06", Pierce height .15", pierce delay time .4 seconds, cut speed 120 ipm, arc voltage 134 volts (adjust if needed to maintain .06" distance), kerf width .061.. Hope this helps! Jim Colt
