Angled cut always on the same side of the part
I am new to plasma cutting and new here and looks like a wealth of information. Forgive me if this has been asked before but I cannot find the answer. All the parts I cut have an angle on the cut edge but not on all side, just bon 2 side. What do you think I am doing wrong?

If the angles are the same direction on opposite sides like a parallelogram then your torch is tilted. Is this the case?

Re: Angled cut always on the same side of the part
If your shield and or nozzle orifices are notched or cratered (see the section on "consumables inspection" in your Hypertherm operator manual) then expect varying parallelogram angularity (as an example X+ and X- with serious angularity, Y+ and Y- with acceptable angularity). The nozzle and shield orifices are what shape the cutting arc.....so any damage to the orifice affects angularity. Damage to these parts is most often done by piercing with inadequate pierce height and / or pierce delay settings. You can destroy a nozzle on the first pierce. Jim Colt

Thanks Jim. That was my second thought, but since he said he was new and all his parts had the angularity, I assumed this was a new setup that has always had this issue.

Re: Angled cut always on the same side of the part
Thanks for the advice guys. I had a good look at the parts and did see good digger of a crater around the nozzle orifice. Swapped it out with a new one and it's cutting much better! Next time I won't be such a cheapskate, I saw the crater but didn't think it would harm anything so I left it. Appreciate your replies

That'll do it. The center hole needs to be perfectly round to shape the arc correctly. Glad you got it fixed.
