Mini water table

Post by acourtjester »

This ides showed up on a welder site I go to.

While my plasma table has a water table I do not keep it full since I do a lot of cutting with the pipe cutting attachment. To me there is no reason to keep introduce a bunch of water and humidity to the shop.
While I was at Fabtech, I saw that one of the large tables made a miniature water table. I thought this was a great idea for when I want to cut on a small sheet of material.
I can put a hose on the outlet and drain it into a 5 gallon bucket.
This mini table is 24x36x2.5. That is plenty big enough for me to cut on scraps without filling up my entire 48x96 table.

That's a great idea Tom. I had the same issue, just don't use my table like I used to and wasn't worth the time and expense of keeping a large table full and fresh. I ended up doing a downdraft setup instead but in the winter it sucks the heat our of my shop so this would be a great solution to that. Thanks for the idea!

The height wouldn't be enough for me, but it's a good idea!
