The other day while surfing I came across https://arcdroidcnc.com/
I was wondering if anyone had made there own copy arm or similar system to literally trace an object?

I wasn't aware of the copy feature, and thought it was just a cnc plasma cutter.
I use Scanything from SheetCam along with a digital camera to trace templates, patterns, objects, etc. My total cost for the "add on" was under $200.
I am running it on one of my Avid cnc routers running on Mach3.
But I must say that they appear to have spent some serious money on their advertising campaign with that slick video. I'll have to check out their video again when I get a chance.

I was really interested in trying to build one of those with put the copy features using LinuxCNC but I decided it was over my head.mcmental wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 7:13 am The other day while surfing I came across https://arcdroidcnc.com/

For a home shop hobbies, 4x4, hotrodder the Arcdroid seems to be a really awesome concept.

That's pretty cool. I had something similar many years ago except it also had a magnetic drive wheel that could stick to and drive around a steel pattern for making multiples. Was pretty cool for its time.

I recently saw a YouTube video from vice grip garage and on his fast cut plasma he had something that was like a mouse with crosshairs on and he clicked it on corners etc of a template he drew and then joined the dots in the program too.

I can’t remember the name of the software but that would be something I’d like to try
