Convert Hypertherm mini torch to large

Is there a way to convert a mini hypertherm torch to a longer one? I did a search and see that you can convert the long to mini but have not found anything on the other way around. Anyone been able to make one longer? and If so how did you accomplish it? thanks

I have gone from long to short but not the other way but after having done that I don't see any reason why not. All you would need is the longer center tube section from Hypertherm and just slide the strain relief further up the torch lead to accommodate the long center section.

What you want to do is not hard, I converted a long to short and back to long. attached are images of the torch and the parts, finding or buying the section needed to make it long may be expensive. At the tip end there are 3 screws you need to remove and the cable end you loosen the strain release nut. There is a thick ring that helps the strain section, all those parts need to slid back on the cable. The lower part screws apart to expose the connection that need to be undone, there is a gas hook up, a 2 pin connector and one with a ring connector. you need to remove them so you can slide the long section up the cable and reconnect things back and screw the short and long section together. Then move the strain release back to the long end and reconnect it. These should help.

Thanks again folks, huge help, just to close the loop on this for the search engine, as far as I can tell, this is the part for the 65Amp unit to 105, I do not know if the 65 amp torch is the same as the 45. But for the 65 amp this is the part number. If it does not work, I will report back. I think the new Sync ones are different.

If it the Duramax machine torch it will work on both 45PM and PM65 units, non sync type. I have a 65PM that I bought with a machine torch, and bought a used 45PM and bought a new Duramax torch for it, worked fine. The older 45PM have torches with a "T" designation not the same.
I think it has been said here that you can get an adapter for the Duramax to use the sync cartridges??

I have one with the gear rack on it. Make me an offer. I use the "shorty" torch in a BOSS MFG magnetic mount, so I have the longer torch body here in a box. but As you said, they are proud of that plastic tube!
