Mounting Tabs

Post by bfuqua77 »

I am working on a 3' sign to hang and stand off 1". I am neeing a way to mount the sign where the standoff cannot be seen. Any ideas? I have a couple of weld on ideas. My current plan is to create a bracket the will weld on a 1" stand off with a tab that sticks up for the wall anchor. This is my first one like this. Any suggestion is appreciated.

So I do a modified French Cleat.
In your case I would weld I would weld a 1" angle iron on the back of the sign near the top with the leg facing down. Then I weld up an offset cleat that gets fastened to the wall and accepts the down leg of the angle iron on the sign. At other positions on the sign I just weld on 1" spacers or short pieces of the same angle iron so that the sign hangs flat.
