Font Dry Cowboy font for one time use

Post by Kartch1 »

Hello everyone.
I’m hoping that everyone can check their files and see if you have the Dry Cowboy font. I have a customer requesting it but I don’t want to spend $99 for a font I will only use once. Thanks in advance

Hi Karch, I don't have that particular font, but perhaps Tom or one of the others may be able to help you out. Or maybe you can find something close. If this is for a customer, then I would just let the customer know that the cost is $99 and pass the cost along to them if they insist on that particular font. Otherwise give them the link to dafont.com and let them look for a free font that suites their particular taste.

Try this one, just take the line out of each letter.

If you’re only going to use the font once, go to one of the font sites like my fonts.com, search for dry cowboy, then type in your text. It will display your text in that font, enlarge it as big as you can.
Screenshot the screen, crop out everything but the text, Copy and paste that image into your software, vectorize the image, ungroup all and move individual letters if you need to curve it or something, and Bob’s your uncle.

What Scratch is saying with the copy and paste (not the honest way)can be done but after your time to do it, buying it would seem simpler. Tell the customer to buy it and they keep it for any future projects they want.

Also, unless you are using the fonts to engrave etc, you will need to fix the dropouts which is easy enough to do.
But it always a good idea to keep it between teh lines legally.
And if you do a trace, which I believe many do (conscience be your guide), and if U post the results, there may likely be some pushback from a few members based on the past . FYI
Hope it works out for you..

I won’t do a trace with images, logos or something like that, but I don’t have a problem with fonts. There are so many fonts that are so similar that I don’t worry about it. I’d buy the font if I need to use it a lot, but for a word or two, I’d do it and I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

Feel free to let your own conscience be your guide. And feel free to call me a bad person, I can handle it.
