There is a forum here on that topic https://www.plasmaspider.com/viewforum.php?f=125 which has some discussions on this.

Re: Solution in water tables
Chris - probably not. I use this much diluted in my water table just to help prevent corrosion. I already buy it anyway in 5 gallon buckets for use in my cnc machining centers. The normal mixing ratio is 1 qt per 5 gallons for the cnc machines. I probably do about 1 qt. per 20 gallons for my water table - but lately the water has been evaporating so fast that I have just been adding clean water to fill up the water tray, which is about 48" x 48" x 4" deep.beeson1987 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 2:28 amIs it best to use a cutting fluid? There are other solutions for plasma cutting that I'm sure are recommended. The only reason I can see for me personally is rust prevention of the water tray, since mine is made from 11 ga. cr steel. I don't really use my table all that often, in fact it was dry when I filled it up last week in preparation for cutting some small brackets for a friend. I'm not in the cnc plasma cutting business, so my table really doesn't see all that much use.
