Issue with new inkscape download

I downloaded the latest version of inkscape today. I drew 1 sign and noticed my circles weren’t all the way closed when I began drawing them. How can I close them?

I think I have the latest version of Inkscape. Perhaps upload your svg file and I will open it with my Inkscape to see if it does the same thing.

As far as I know, the latest version of Inkscape is 1.1 - which is what I'm using.

I really don't know what I am doing as I really don't use Inkscape all that much. But I do remember my older version occasionally doing what you are experiencing. I just chalked it up to "operator error".

The question I have is did you draw that circle in Inkscape or import a drawing from another source. If imported it may have been assembled that way. Now you could use the node tools to join the section together. In Inkscape a circle would need to be broken in an operation to be like that.

It was the circle button at the top of the menu lol. Face palm.

Lighten up dude, when a problem is solved it is nice to pass on the solution so it is in the record. That way when another member has a similar problem the can use the search function for a quick answer. It is just a courtesy not a demand.

Bigbscoug - you need to lose the attitude!! I am not trying to "hassle" you. We simply wanted to know what you did to change your circle mode from the broken circle you originally showed us to the one where you fixed it to a complete circle. It makes it hard to try to help folks here if they don't want to cooperate. As Tom said, it would just be nice to know how your problem was solved so this solution will be available in the future for other members.

As Tom said, it is just a courtesy to offer help to others here. Just remember - it's a 2-way street.

I think you are correct. I never paid any attention to those options for the circle/ellipse at the top of the page. I had the same thing happen to me a while back, where it was drawing incomplete circles and I didn't know why. Thanks for clearing that up. As you "ASSumed", I think the OP probably had the icon on the top left selected and that was causing the problem. It's always good to know these answers to help myself and others here avoid the same mistakes in the future.
