ProNest LT - Common cut with Tabs

Post by ATsteve »

Hi all,

I use ProNest LT and am wanting to improve the way I cut a part we do on a regular basis. The part is just a 40x40mm square with a hole in it. Due to their small size I cut them with a 3mm tab so they don't fall through the bed then we break them off manually.

I was hoping there was a way to combine the common cut and tab features (or another feature?) to cut the parts in pairs as per the attached image. This will reduce the number of pierces required and speed up cutting as I cut these by the 1000.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Steve.

You'll have to take into account the kerf width between the parts or something will be too small. Also, remember that one side of the plasma flame cuts better than the other. So the cut on the opposite side of the kerf might not be as good.
I use SheetCam, so.not sure about how to do this in pronest, but I think you would need to draw both parts out together in CAD with the correct dimensions including the kerfs and then do a no offset cut. That's how I would approach it anyway.
