Hypertherm Power Max 85 Fault code 0-19
My machine is used for my table. I have had this machine for 10yrs now. With no problem at all. It just started throwing the code 0-19. I have been able to turn it off and back on a few times and it goes away. But it keeps getting harder and harder to get the code to go away. I havent changed any wiring or anything that I can think of that may be causing this. I have just recently bought a a hand torch that i can unplug my machine torch and use the hand torch. could this have started the Problem? Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Hypertherm Power Max 85 Fault code 0-19
They say 0-19 is an inverter shutdown, could be electrical noise or cold be a major hardware fault. If inverter noise it will fire back up and work again, if not you may see a 0-99 code which is more severe. If you haven't seen a 0-99 then lets hope it's noise.
OK so you changed a torch and now this problem, so what could have happened assuming there is nothing wrong with the new torch itself? The only thing I can think of is the ground cable connection at the front of the plasma cutter, it is a 1/2 turn type connection and and can be easily knocked loose, possibly when plugging in the new torch. Its a long shot but takes 5 seconds to look and be sure its tight.
Aside from that, you have a good base line with the new torch, its causes 0-19 codes randomly. If you were to go back to the 10 year tried and true setup with the old torch does the problem go away?
That's all I can think of.

I still use it with my machine torch. But i unplug machine torch and use hand torch from time to time. With either torch hooked up it still sends the code.

Did you check the ground cable where it plugs into the Powermax unit I mentioned above to be sure it is tight and secure? It's a long shot but I have seen this cause an issue more than once.

When was the last time you pulled the cover and blew out the dust bunnies? I would do that and check the circuit board & other components over for damage.

I have blown it out. Looked for any damage. Checked and cleaned all connections. And bought a new machine and hooked it up. Still throwing code 0-19

That's a bummer. Have you tried entering the diagnostic feature on your Powermax? It will give you more information than the standard error code.

Turn the Powermax unit on and then press the Auto/Manuel and Gas Selector button at the same time to make the diagnostic window appear. It will list the recent codes. Post back with your findings, even a pic of your LCD screen may be helpful.

Perfect, that pic will help. I had a similar problem once and ended up being the cooling fan. Replaced the fan and all was well.
So I see you have a code 3-42-0 stored multiple times. For this you want to perform test #5 on the attached pdf. This is the test I performed to determine my fan was dead.
Have a look at the attached pdf, perform test #5 and I am curious what you find out.

Also, I have still been able to get it to work by turning it on and off multiple times. Seems like it will not throw the code if you can hear a click noise on the inside. But if it sets for a couple of hours not being used it will throw the 0-19 code again and then you have to mess with it until you can get it to click again

Re: Hypertherm Power Max 85 Fault code 0-19
It all sounds about right to me. If you do find it is a fan I googled the part number on the fan rather than order it from Hypertherm and I bought the exact same fan for 1/3 the cost. I ended up finding it on Amazon. I hate giving Amazon my money but for 1/3 the cost I had to go that route but I ALWAYS try to not buy from Amazon.

Re: Hypertherm Power Max 85 Fault code 0-19
I have the same error 0-19 with the same symptoms. I can rarely get the machine to run on without the error. I checked the voltage as the tech manual said to and everything is 25% higher than it should be on the low voltage section. Did you ever find a fix for yours? I would hate to buy a 1200 dollar board for a small bad resistor. Any feedback helps! Thank you
