manual trace of fonts
There has been talk here about manual tracing in Inkscape, here is a video showing some tricks for doing that. One is "Auto Smooth" to help make cleaner lines when manual tracing. the other is to make sharper corner where needed. I know the video is not based for Plasma but the manual trace is helpful. She talks quickly so I indicated the 2 functions she talks about.

Thanks Acourtjester, the smoothing tool is a great tip. I am not sure but looked like she was tracing an already existing vector font when she could of just used the original font. Maybe i'm missing something but regardless the smoothing tool was great to learn of

Re: manual trace of fonts
She was working to use her work on a pen plotter to convert some thicker fonts to a more useable shape and cut down on the number of strokes. More or less a node reducing and refining the font structure. The smoothing tool was something I did not know about (like many things) and that is why I posted it for other to learn of it too.

Tom - thanks for sharing this. There are many, many things I don't know about Inkscape. This video was very informative about learning some new editing techniques.
