Thanks Tom! He gives a great explanation as to the pluses and minuses of auto-tracing vs. manual tracing. This certainly applies to the example the High School Teacher recently provided in the discussion linked to below.

Great video, great explanation Not a big Inkscape user but this is intriguing and I will give it another go.

One way to look at is Inkscape is a tool some here have different tools to use for each project. Each tool may work better for one type of project or another. Some projects may require more than one tool to get the finish you want. With Inkscape free for all, you get a free tool and also the Paint tool from Windows.
