Not sure this is even possible? I have a logo of a local club, drawn and cut from paper. I scanned it and tried to convert from jpg using inkscape. Just overloads my computers and freezes up, then crashes. Just looking for some advice, and to find out is this possible without expensive software.
Thanks!!

Re: Converting Scans, is it possible?
I took your pic and converted it in cutting shop in about 5 seconds. It needs a little cleanup but not bad.
I know very little about Inkscape but a lot of people use and like it so I would guess you probably just need some help with settings for it. Attached is the DXF results.

P.S.
Cutting Shop is pretty expensive software but you don't need it to get good results.

Bigrhamr: I appreciate it!!!! Sometimes I get good results with jpg conversion and sometimes they just give me fits. More than likely operator error. Anyone, thanks a ton, I can easily fix it from here.

Jpeg to .dxf conversions can be done quickly with Corel draw (convert to vector)

Re: Converting Scans, is it possible?
I looked at Vector Magic and it seems easy enough and cheap enough. It doesn't save directly to DXF so I would need to run it throuh another program. What are you guys using after Vector Magic to get to DXF. I do like the monthly rate plan.
I tried Plasma Trace and although it's free, it wasn't that easy to work with.
I'll look at the others.
Thanks

Re: Converting Scans, is it possible?
I just tried Vextractor and I really thought it was the easiest, AND it goes directly to DXF. I don't want tp spend hundreds of dollars on a program just yet, so $100.00 seems pretty fair. Anyone have any comments on VexTractor??
