This is for Jim C at HT or any one that can help me.
I am trying to cut expanded metal and the torch fires when starting and then stops cutting immediately after starting.
I have the HT 1250 and it's set on constant cut with the DHC2. Iam using fine cut tips. I have been cutting 16,14ga CR with no problems.

Re: Cutting Expanded Metal
When I cut expanded metal I also turn off the THC.

I do have the rapid restart switched on the torch but I did not turn off the THC I will try that. This is my first time cutting expanded metal so I guess I learned something new. Thanks' again

depending on the size of the expanded steel you often have to turn down your cut speed or when the arc starts it will miss a small portion because there is no pierce delay.

Re: Cutting Expanded Metal
Crosscut a piece last week, I turned off the DTHC and lined up a seam so the torch didn't run out of metal.
If I had it do again I would just used a cutoff wheel, I needed to clean up the sharp points anyway.
