Would this file be cuttable out of 14g if I knew what is was doing I am conserned with the rains and rope. I have asked the designer to make things like that no less than an 1/8 inch, is this unreasonable. we got into it this morning because every time he does something i have to spend the time to completly redo it so i can cut it and he acts like i am retarded. Am I or just doing something wrong

Yes, The drawing you posted would be very nicely done on 14 ga steel with a good quality air plasma (Hypertherm) mounted on a cnc machine equipped with torch height control.

If you are shopping for a machine....just get a machine owner to cut one of your parts and send it to you...then you couls see what the capabilities are.

Whenever I work with a designer, or am designing something myself. I always use the 1/8" minimum rule also. I can cut stuff thinner than 1/8" alot of times, but I feel if I stick to 1/8" then I'm always safe, and it gives my designers a "rule" to stick with. I think pretty much all tables (well... all that are worth buying...) should be able to handle that. I think most good plasma cutters should also, Hypertherm, Thermal Dynamcis, Esab... and the big ones as long as you're using the correct consumables. THC will help alot and you should be able to use either machine torches or hand held torches mounted on a machine... (Like the Plasmacam does)
I think I'm the oldest 10 year old boy on the forum...
