Not cutting all the way through in one direction
Was cutting a piece last night and at times the torch wouldn't cut all the way through the material in one direction. Cutting 14 ga. mild steel with 45 amp fine cut consumables at book specs. I tried bumping the voltage up a little but it didn't help. Don't know why it only had a problem in one direction.

Re: Not cutting all the way through in one direction
Bumping volts up would raise the torch which would probably make it worse.
I would guess your cutting too high or your consumables are worn. Did you measure your cut height to verify it is correct?

Guessing worn consumables also. Use a magnifying glass to inspect the hole in the end of your nozzle. If its not perfectly round and/or has a blow out on one side of it that's the issue I suspect. Touching the material with the nozzle or dirty moist air will cause this a lot.

Re: Not cutting all the way through in one direction
Thanks guys. Was using fine cut consumables and the nozzle had blown out one side so the hole was not round.
