So, this is the thickest stainless steel I’ve cut to date and the first time I’ve had this particular issue.
Job: 16x flanges to cut from 10mm 304 stainless steel, dimensions as follows - OD:240mm ID:100 4x 20mm volt holes.
The issue: not completely cutting through the sheet, mainly toward the end of the cut as it crosses the lead in and begins lead out. See pics attached.
I have tried various lead in types and lengths, reduced the slow rate at end of cut but nothing seems to make much difference. I have double checked the machine torch but the nozzle, shield, swirl ring, electrode, o rings are all fine.
Any help or input greatly appreciated.

Not familiar with what your using but it does look like your cut height could be too high.
Are you able to pause your machine mid-cut and measure the distance between the torch and the workpiece?

Your torch height could be too low believe it or not. I had a problem with thick metal before and that was surprising the problem. Play around with the height some. Also, you could try to turn up your pierce delay.AD80 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 6:02 pm So, this is the thickest stainless steel I’ve cut to date and the first time I’ve had this particular issue.
