DXF Viewer - Software Question

Post by automate »

I have amassed a tremendous amount of .dxf files in the last year. Does anyone know of a program that will let you see the image before you open the file? I am spending HOURS searching for that ONE image when I could be cutting or selling. I would love a free download but I am more than willing to pay for the software. Thanks

We use Edrawings form Solidworks, it is a free dxf,dwg viewer from the solidworks site with no time limit . Just a viewer. This allows printing too.
We use irfanview for looking at all files, cdr, dxf, dwg, jpg, bmp, eps, in a thumbnail viewer, after you install the free plugins . You may need to install ghostscript as well but it is free as well. Cadsoftools has a plugin for irfanview that will allow you to print the thumbnails in a regular size balck and white 8.5x 11 format with header and footer notes showing where the file is located on the pc. this would allow you to make a printed copy of all your files with the exact location printed on the header or footer for easy reference. Here is the info nothing comes close to this for free, or if there is please post ,even if it is cheap!!!

Not sure what you call "cheep" but "solid documents pdf" works for me, and it's only $80. I can get a jpg or bmp from all of my DXF files. It saves them with the same name, in the same folder if you want. There are a bunch of other features that you can use to change file formats included in the program, but getting a picture of the file is what we are talking about.

Yes, you can download for free Infraview and then use the "Thumbnail viewer". It will let you see thumbnail views of almost any picture type including dxf. its dam handy for viewing lots of dxf files if you have not named them correctly.
