Adding Circle to an Object - Struggling newbie

where to begin..
I'm trying to make a clock and having trouble adding the circle to the object without it being cut off.
any help is greatly appreciated.

been playing around with it, got in pool, drank bunch of beer, still couldnt fiqure it out.

No clue what software you're using but if the bunch of beer didn't help maybe you should try peyote. Did wonders with my Torchmate cad
