Newbie with big problems.
I recently purchased an old. Very old ldr plasma that was turn key and making money daily. It’s a 4x8 with a thermal dynamics 152. During the hurricane Michael my computer was fried. I have replaced a new desktop windows 7 32 bit with parallel port. Mach 3 and sheetcam. I have spent the last two weeks trying to configure the whole system with zero luck. I have reached out to ldr for a configuration sheet on the axis drive pins. They said the machine is 12 years old and would not be able to help. Is there anyway to get the pins and all configured so I can not have a pile of wasted money in the corner of my shop? Thank you all in advance. Hope this is in the right place.

When you say the computer was fried, does that mean the power supply, so maybe the hard drive is still usable? You might be able to pull the data you need off the hard drive.

Re: Newbie with big problems.
My computer guy has tried twice now. He is gonna give it one more shot. He says that it overheats and shuts down in a minute and a half. I have him exact directions to get to the old files so he is gonna try that tomorrow. Hoping for the best.

Pull the hard drive out and put it in another comparable computer

This is why backup usb's we supply are so important. I did not say I wouldn't help, I said I did not have that machines configuration.
Typical axis pin settings in Mach3 are
x step 2
X dir 3
Y step 4
Y dir 5
Z step 6
Z dir 7
A step 8
A dir 9
Make sure the "A" axis is slaved to the Y axis and making sure the direction low active for "A" and "X" are opposite to each other.

Use a "toaster oven" as they are called (make sure you have the compatible style for the hard drive interface):Largemouthlou wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2019 8:31 pm Pull the hard drive out and put it in another comparable computer

I've used an Inateck USB to IDE + SATA converter with great success in recovering data off hard drives from dead computers.

Well good news! The computer guy got the info off last night. I’m gonna head over and pick it up. I’ll let you guys know when I get it moving tonight hopefully. I appreciate all the input.
