Hey all, new here... I'm equipped with a 45XP, and the desire to cut designs, by free hand. To explain, I'm completely new to plasma cutting. I've used aids like circle and straight line jigs. But I want to cut some logos and artwork, without software, etc. I thought I'd chalk out some lines on regular soft steel plate. But with the flash and all, I can't see the lines... and it looks sh*tty, really bad.
What to do? Thxs, beginner.

Do you have a shade 5 face shield? That should help with the arc flash.

Yep, shade 5 and soapstone lines you'll be able to see the cut much better. Soapstone being white and powdery upon application shows up bright white in the lighting of the arc.
