stacking sheets

Post by TLJC »

Is it possible to stack sheets and cut them?
I have a customer that wants aproximately 50'' disks cut from 12 gauge mild steel and I have about 80 sheets to cut.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

I would think that the first issue would be can your plasma cutter cut that thickness, second issue would be the quality of the cut on the 2nd and 3rd sheets. To answer your question, I'd vote NO.

I've done it, by accident. It wasn't pretty.

just use bobcad. You can nest it in a sheet. But I would never stack your plates. It will melt them together. Very hard to get them apart
