duramax torch on powermax 45

Post by ret67 »

I have a powermax 45 with a duramax machine torch and a new flashcut 8 control system on an old practical cnc system. The software wants to use cutting values for the T-45 torch so I substituted the 65Amp duramax but I suspect the cutting values are not correct. Where can I find the correct data?

You will find the correct settings in the Powermax 45 manual starting at section 3-9

Here is a link to the manual https://www.hypertherm.com/Download?fileId=HYP109170

Nice one Robert. It was suggested by an associate in Europe who make plasma tables that the 059478 Duramax torch and a bare 45XP power supply might be a better setup than the standard torch if you were going to cut thicker material rather than lightweight HVAC work. Now here are the cut charts!

I have been thinking about a duramax torch upgrade for the 45 (non XP), but I've got a load of bulk bought consumables to get through first.... I also have duramax consumables where I nearly bought a 65... so I'll use those on the duramax torch.

I can't decide between a Hypertherm 65 or a well priced new in box ThermalDynamics A120 if I can just screw the price down a bit more to compensate for the inevitable pain...

The pleasure of the cheap price is quickly forgoten whereas the pain and discomfort of poor performance remains forever!!. Just my thoughts, been there before, get something that works and is easy to use, as none of us need extra headaches. By the way what is the output for the A120. My self I have a PM125 so far so good it works well.

thanks for the replies I am now getting much cleaner cuts with the new charts.
I am also very happy with the Flashcut 8 plasma upgrade to my old cnc router system. I installed it with no problems and it works as advertised.

120 amps. There seems to be a few people here who like the TD over the HP.
