Powermax 600 Fine cut consumables

Post by TTMotorsports »

I recently purchased some consumables from a supplier online and ordered Hypertherm 220326 as well as 220330 and 120574. I received the 220330 and 120574 but was told the 220326 is discontinued. Does anyone on here have any shields for this or suggestions? Should i cut or bore open a standard shield for the fine cut consumables? Thanks

I have used part# 120303 deflector in the past (I don't use ohmic sensing), or just mod a standard shield. The shield is not as important when using Finecuts since the amps are lower and material is thinner.

Does anyone have the fine cut settings chart. I can't find it on hypertherms website.

Use the ones for the 1000 series. Fine cut can be somewhat trial and error anyway. Start with the parameters on the 1000 fine cut (separate) chart. Adjust as needed . Jim C may correct me but I think the 600 came out before there were fine cut consumables.

Got it up and running and cutting great. I used 120303 deflector like stated but had to rig up a ohmic extension to touch the plate for height control. Working great and can't believe i haven't used fine cut in the past. Just did 116 4x6 plaques with anywhere from 4 to 6 numbers or letters on each with mounting holes. All with same set of consumables and very little dross. Would've taken 3 sets of consumables before easily plus tons of babysitting.
