Post by Robert1999 »

I was wondering if anyone knows if the easy scribe will void the warranty on my powermax 85. Was just talking to the owner of the company that makes my plasma table and he said it would,If anyone knows more about this please let me know. Thanks

LOL well of course they would say that - my guess is that they sell an engraving attachment!! :-P

No way using the scribe will void the entire warranty on your plasma cutter. Now, if you crash it into a piece and bust the torch that is NOT going to be covered by warranty! But let's be honest, if you have a tip up and a solid mount and bust the torch on a piece of metal with regular consumables in it then that will NOT be covered either.

I use the scribe on my machine - I have a magnetic mount. It works fine. If you want to press on and get an official statement from Hypertherm then I'm sure their legal department would be happy to draft a letter telling you that using anything other than OEM consumables would void the warranty.
