Here are some cuts that my 5x10 diy plasma table with floating head, Running sheetcam, mach3, nema 34 "x" nema 24 "y" and "z" THC not working yet. Using a everlast 80s pt80 machine torch on 1/4 cr plate. Cut height .060 pierce .120 delay .5 60amps 1.2mm nozzle
I made a line speed test at first with 13 lines 6" long starting at 20ipm running 5ipm increments on each line. Then after that I made a 5 line test starting at 30ipm working my way up 5 ipm at a time till I got to 50ipm the outside square is cut a 46ipm.
I have rotated the file in sheetcam to check lines on both "x" and "y" axis.
It seems like my y axis is losing steps or something is off? I have checked backlash, motor tuning and calibrated all axis down to .0002 accuracy. Also when the cut goes from "X" then 90 degrees to the "Y" axis it picks up a dip in the cut? But from "Y" 90* to "X" it's perfect! ?!
This is my first major post so I hope I have provided enough information as detailed as possible.

none of the pierces look like holes.pierce heights are off definitely. I've built a lot of 3d printers i would guess your steps per mm is off for what ever motors you using. tape a needle to the torching set down a ruler and move x 10mm and see where its at then do y same should find problem.

I did find a few problems I am currently correcting.
1. Loose pinnion gear set screws on y axis
2 . Timing belt fitment on pulley
3. peirce delay is now set to .8 instead of .5

Quick update. After filing deeper set screw flat spots on my shafts and finding the right timing belt. All is well.
Turned loop sharp corners off in sheetcam and changed pierce times and the lead in and out position.
