Hello All,
I have to cut 100 pieces from 3/8" plate roughly 1" wide and 20" long with a slight bend in it. They are for a scissor like assembly we have made for years. I don't know if I should be using the 60 or 80 amp consumables for my Hypertherm powermax 1650 G3. I would like to have as little dross as possible.
Any help would be appreciated.
3/8" plate question - 60 or 80 amps?

Re: 3/8" plate question
I would recommend tha 60 amp process...it will provide better cut quality as compared to the 80 amp in terms of edge squareness and part accuracy.

Re: 3/8" plate question
Thanks Jim,
I cut the arms with great success!!
The quality was great with only a small angle on each side. I compared them to a previous piece cut by laser. It was vey difficult to tell the difference. The only thing I have to work on is lessening the dross. Any suggestions?
