Trying to make numbers stencil font and its not working..

I have been trying to make the number 8 in the Brush Script Standard font a stencil font so that I can cut it out on the plasma without the insides falling out and it's not working. When I go to fill or upload it into sheet cam, it comes out as if the nodes aren't connected and I dont know how to fix it.

I have converted the text to curves, made lines and trimmed the excess. Not sure what else to do.

Here is the attached file. Very simple but I cannot figure it out. I can do it no problem in other programs, but not Corel.

OK here is how I did it with 16 your tabs may be slightly different but the functions are still there.
