3D models
Hello, I am running Solidworks and I was trying to figure out a way to take a 3D model and make it to where I can cut it on the table then assemble it. Anyone have any tips?

Re: 3D models
It's more of a low tech way to do it but free, using pepakura designer: http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/
I typically use it for paper craft models but can be used for metal also. It will "unfold" 3d model then you can just convert it into your drawing program.

Re: 3D models
I don't know Solidworks, but I use Rhino which I'm told is in many ways comparable. In Rhino there is a Make2D command which allows you to convert various views of a 3D model into 2D drawings. I would imagine with as powerful as Solidworks is, there is something similar - it's just a matter of figuring out what it's called and/or what menu it's in.
