Shop Miracle

Post by larrycameron44 »

So today while doing some cutting I had forgotten to turn on the compressor in the shop. I have 3 air reservoir which enable me to cut for 7-10 mins with my powermax 45. Torchmate 2x4
Well as I was wondering what was missing, which was the noise from “the compressor humming away “, I looked at the powermax and noticed the air light was in the orange not green.
I stopped immediately thinking the cuts must be crappy with so low air pressure......... but to my surprise, the least dross on 2mm CR mild steel in 6 years.
So lesson for me was reduce air pressure a bit and better cutting. It was initially set at the upper green light.

Cheers

Thanks very much for sharing that Larry.

I'm guessing you were using Finecuts on 2mm thickness.

I would never have thought to try turning the air pressure down that far to get a better cut.
