Help converting a file in Inkscape

Post by dirtbykerz »

hey guys, I love this forum and always find it very helpful! I've tried converting this file to .dxf but each way I try it, it comes out too distorted or far off. can anyone help me or guide me in the right direction? I'm going to be changing the name and date for a Christmas present so I don't need that. Thanks for any bit of advice!

you can use screen shot as jpeg the use Inkscape and do trace bitmap and remove the fill to get these.

Thank you for the help! I'm very new to inkscape. I was able to do like you said and trace the bitmap, but not sure on my best options for the settings they had to adjust. From there, I cant figure out how you remove the gap. After that, Is it as simple as saving as a .dxf file and opening up in my DesignEdge program?
