Can i get a good cut for art type stuff with std consumables
PPLC table with candcnc controller hypertherm 85 i was wondering is it best to use fine cut consumables or can you dial in your speeds enough to use the std consumables got a bunch of regular consumables at a auction was just wondering how much better the fine cut is. Pic is the first piece ive cut with the table i know you guys do alot nicer stuff just a first cut item for me.

Nice you may want to search back for posts dealing with "divots" for the dots at the start and end of the cuts.
attached are cuts I made with fine cut consumables on my DIY table the letters are the drop outs.

another question is there a way to set it were the lines on the nut of the spark plug dont go so close to the edge or is that just changing the file didnt know if i changed kerf width if that would change the way it cuts

The main difference between the fine and standard is the Kerf width changing it in SheetCam does nothing. I think it is there just so you know when setting up a cut operation. In the Hypertherm manual if shows different Kerf width but they change with thickness of metal maybe due to the change in speed. for the fine cut form 18 Ga to 10 Ga the kerf goes from 0.043" to 0.051". 45 amp nozzles are about 0.010" larger each thickness.
End dimples have been discussed here some time back it depends on the electronics and the post processor. Many have tried turning off the torch before the end of travel with "Cut Rules"

Looking good racerx1194. I use fine cut on everything below 10 gauge. I cut with regular consumables when I first started and got pretty good results but found I needed the fine cuts consumables to get the close spacing of the fine detail in a lot of the artsy files. Keep of the good work.racerx1194 wrote:got some fine tips cut this for the wife longest program ive cut
