I have a cutmaster 101 and it has inconsistant piercing issues. It may pierce properly from 1 to 20 times in a row and then not pierce right for the same amount and then good again. The air is clean and dry. It seems as if when it doesn't pierce quite right it is not getting full power. Even after a bad pierce after the pierce delay is done it cuts just fine when it starts on cut path. The longer the lead in the better with this problem. It seems like this problem is progressively getting worse. I know this is an older machine but the cuts are good its just the pierce issue that stinks. The 101 is on a Tracker 5 x 10 table heavily modified. Any suggestions.
Thanks Mark

Re: annoying pierce issue
I had something similar awhile back. I found out after taking it in for repairs that I had not seated the torch plug completely into the socket. The rim of the plug was about 1/8 of a inch from being seated to the shoulder. Properly seated it was about 1/32 away from the shoulder.
