Consumable life

Post by Railmen »

Just saying that since I went to flashcut controller and got my table tuned in my consumables are lasting greatly now..

Hypertherm 85 running at 65amp setting.

This was cutting 1/2 and 1/4" over 12,000 inches of cutting with 800+ starts.

The last 1000 inches or so there was a bevel starting on the one side of the cuts.

Good consumable life with a Hypertherm plasma is partially the good plasma cutter design, but mostly due to good torch height control.....which is a great functioning process on the new Flashcut cnc/height control upgrades.

Do you have any details on what type of machine (brand/model or home built?) you upgraded with the Flashcut equipment?

Its the kit from percision plasma for the gantry and mostly his plans with some changes for a water table, i made it with water storage under the table with fill and drain time in about 2-3 minutes.

I had a older system with THC300 controller and it was good always worked, little temperamental but worked good, sold that table and built the 5x10 table with Toms CandCNC controller and DTHC IV, the control was awesome worked good, but my experience with the DHTC SUCKED....... i never had it work to my standard.

So after making more scrap then proper parts and wanting to cut the table in half I bought the flash cut system, control is good still getting some of the settings dialed in, but there THC is awesome works top notch. Nesting is very nice with their pro pack.
