PM65 Error Code

Post by rwskinner »

My fairly new (less than 6 months) Hypertherm PM65 had a code of 0-99 when I powered it on a couple days ago.
I cycled the power and the code cleared and all was fine.

Should I be worried? Internal System faults typically don't get better with time, but it may be very hard to diagnose unless the code appears more frequently. I just would dislike the send it in and a few weeks getting back with no problems found and get stuck in that loop.

Luckily it hasn't came back but I also haven't cut too much lately.
I was hoping Jim would chime in. It's odd that it only showed up once and hasn't been back.

I guess I will keep cutting until she quits.

I wouldn't be happy about that one...

Warning/Fault codes
(refer to operator manual)
0-12 Low input gas pressure: warning
0-13 AC input unstable: warning
0-19 Power board hardware protection
0-20 Low gas pressure
0-21 Gas flow lost while cutting
0-22 No gas input
0-30 Torch consumables stuck
0-32 End of consumable life
0-40 Over temperature
0-50 Retaining cap off
0-51 Start/trigger signal on at power up
0-52 Torch not connected
0-60 AC input voltage error
0-61 AC input unstable: shutdown
0-98 Internal communication failure
0-99 System hardware fault – service required

I'd definitely stick around until Jim comments on it.

I have seen that from plasma dust. Open it up and gently blow it out. Getting a fault one time in 6 months and nothing since does not sound like a potential problem. Sometimes processors can do funny things when they are started. I would be a lot more concerned if it happened during a cut or just sitting with the power on.
